Week 9 Fantasy Injuries

The Counselor is IN:

Here are the Week 9 fantasy injuries and my commentary.

Cardinals:
TE Ben Patrick has a knee injury and is questionable for this weekend. He missed practice until Friday when he fully practiced. He is expected to play on Sunday.

TE Leonard Pope is out with an ankle injury and will not play on Sunday.

K Neil Rackers has a calf injury and is probable. He should play with no problem.

WR Early Doucet is probable with a groin injury. He was limited in practice on Thursday.

Falcons:
RB Jerious Norwood is questionable with a concussion. He is expected to play this weekend.

Ravens:

RB Willis McGahee has a sore ankle and is questionable. He was limited in practice but is expected to play on Sunday.

WR Demetrius Williams was put on the Injured Reserve because he had a bone spur underneath his Achilles' tendon surgically removed.

WR Yamon Figurs is probable for this weekend with a knee injury. He was limited in practice on Thursday but is expected to play.

TE Todd Heap has a neck injury and is probable. He practiced on Friday and should play this weekend.

TE Daniel Wilcox is out with a thigh injury.

Bills:
WR Josh Reed
is out with an Achilles/ankle injury.

QB Trent Edwards has an ankle injury and is probable. He fully practiced this week.

Panthers:

Off Week 9

Bears:
WR Marty Booker
has a knee injury and is probable for this weekend.

WR Brandon Lloyd is questionable with a knee injury. He was limited in practice part of this week.

Bengals:
QB Carson Palmer
has an elbow injury and is out. It is likely that he is out for the year.

TE Ben Utecht is probable with a chest injury. He fully practiced on Wednesday.

WR Glenn Holt has a shoulder injury and is questionable. He was limited in practice part of this week.

WR Jerome Simpson is out with an ankle injury.

Browns:
WR Donte Stallworth is questionable with a quad injury. He was limited in practice this week. I would not count on him to play.

WR Joe Jurevicius has a knee injury and is listed as out. It is a good chance that he is finished for this year.

Cowboys:
QB Tony Romo
is out with a broken right pinky finger. It appears that he will be rested until week 11. Next week is Dallas' off week.

WR Sam Hurd was put on the Injury Reserve and had ankle surgery.

TE Jason Whitten has a broken rib and is questionable for this weekend. Jason has stated that he wants to play. The Giants will be scheming for him over the middle since QB Brad Johnson has a weak arm. Even if he plays this weekend, he is not a good fantasy start.

Broncos:
WR Brandon Stockley is questionable with symptoms of a concussion. He was limited in practice this week. If he plays, he is not a bad start against the Dolphins as a flex or third WR. I don't recommend taking the chance with your fantasy team for Stockley.

TE Tony Scheffler has a groin injury and is questionable. He was limited in practice on Friday. If Tony can stay healthy, he can have a good fantasy second half.

RB Selvin Young is questionable with a groin injury. He was limited in practice this week. He is not a safe start.

RB Andre Hall has an injured right ankle and is questionable this weekend. Another Bronco Runninngback that is injured.

RB Ryan Torian is probable with an elbow injury. Coach Shanahan stated that he would like to leave Torian on the bench this week to further heal. He may play because of the vast injuries in Denver's backfield. I would not start him until he has a good game under his belt.

RB Michael Pittman has bruised ribs and is probable for this weekend. He is expected to play with a flack jacket on. Pittman is not the runningback he used to be and is injured. Even against Miami, he is not a good start.

Lions:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Packers:
QB Aaron Rogers is probable with a shoulder injury. Rogers will play this weekend. He has become a good start when healthy.

WR Jordy Nelson has an ankle injury and is questionable. Nelson should not have much fantasy value even if he was healthy.

Texans:
RB Ahman Green has a thigh injury and is questionable. He fully practiced on Friday but was limited earlier in the week. He is a game time decision. No one believes that Green will be the player he was in Green Bay. He has zero fantasy value at this time.

WR Kevin Walter is probable for this weekend with a knee injury. Walter has been a good 3 WR and flex most of this year.

RB Chris Taylor has a quad injury and was put on the Injured Reserve.

WR Andre Davis had surgery to repair the ring finger of his left hand and is out for a few weeks.

Colts:
WR Reggie Wayne is questionable with a knee injury. He stated he is ready to go. He did practice on Friday. With Peyton's struggles this season, Wayne is not as automatic to start when questionable as he was last year.

RB Joesph Addai has a hamstring injury and is probable. He will play this weekend. The Colts need him to step up big against the Patriots. Most fantasy owners also need him to step up big this weekend. I would start him.

RB Clifton Dawson is questionable with the effects of a concussion. He should not be a fantasy consideration unless Addai is not able to go.

RB Dominic Rhodes has an ankle injury and is questionable. He has not practiced this week. I do not look for him to play.

Jaguars:
WR Mike Walker is questionable with a knee injury.

WR Reggie Williams has a hamstring injury and is probable. He has been limited in practice all week.

K Josh Scobee probable with a broken bone in his right hand. This should not affect his kicking but he probably will not try to make any more tackles for a while.

Chiefs:
QB Brodie Croyle has been placed in the Injured Reserve which ends his season.

QB Damon Huard has been placed in the Injured Reserve which ends his season.

RB Jamaal Charles is probable with an ankle injury. He was limited in practice this week. He is supposed to be the back up to this weeks starting RB Kolby Smith.

RB Larry Johnson is out with a suspension for his rash of bad behaviors towards women. I am surprised it is only one game. I do expect the league to announce further suspensions upcoming.

Dolphins:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Vikings:
WR Sidney Rice is probable with a knee injury. He was limited in practice earlier in the week. Before he was injured, Rice was starting to show a lot of signs of potential. If you are in a keeper league, he is a worthy pickup to stash on your bench.

Saints:
Off Week 9

Patriots:

RB Lawerence Maroney has a shoulder injury and was placed on the injured reserve list. He is done for the season.

RB LaMont Jordan is questionable with a right calf injury. He practiced all week.

RB Sammy Morris has a knee injury and is listed as questionable. He is expected to be out for a couple of weeks. He is not safe start.

WR Randy Moss is probable with a knee injury. He was limited in practice on Wednesday but fully practiced the rest of the week. As always, he is a good start this weekend.

Giants:
No significant fantasy injuries. That is bad for my Cowboys this weekend.

Jets:
WR Laveranues Cole
has a thigh injury and is probable. He practiced lightly this week. He is expected to play.

K Mike Nugent is listed as out for this week.

TE Chris Baker is questionable with a back injury. He was limited in practice.

WR Jerricho Cotchery has a shoulder injury and is probable. He was limited in practice this week.

TE Bubba Franks has a hip injury and is questionable. It does not appear that he will play this weekend.

RB Jesse Chatman was placed on Injured Reserve.

QB Erik Ainge was placed on Injured Reserve.

Raiders:

RB Darren McFadden is questionable with a turf toe injury. He has missed practice all week and is wearing a protective boot. This is not good for Oakland.

Eagles:
RB Michael Westbrook is probable with ribs injury. He will play this weekend. He is a good start.

WR Reggie Brown has a groin injury and is probable. He fully practiced. He will be good to go. He may be a sleeper pick for the week. He would a decent flex player.

WR DeSean Jackson has a shoulder injury and is probable. He is expected to play.

WR Jason Avant is questionable with an arm injury. I would avoid starting Avant this week.

TE L.J. Smith is recovering from a concussion and is out for the week.

Steelers:
RB "Fast" Willie Parker
is probable for this weekend with a knee injury. He fully practiced on Friday. He is expected to play but he should only have limited carries on Monday night..

QB Big Ben Roethlisberger is probable with a shoulder injury. He fully practiced on Thursday and Friday. Big Ben will play.

RB Rashard Mendenhal has been placed in Injured Reserve for his fractured right arm.

Chargers:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Seahawks:
Off Week 9

49ers:
Off Week 9

Rams:

TE Joe Klopfenstein has a torn ligament in his wrist and is probable for this weekend. He is expected to play with a brace

RB Steven Jackson is questionable with a quad injury. He will be a game time decision. Jackson has stated that he will play. I believe he will start this weekend but wait and see if you can. I expect a good game for Jackson if he plays.

Buccaneers:
QB Brian Griese is questionable with an elbow injury. He was limited in practice this weekend.

WR Maurice Stovall has a hamstring injury and is questionable for this weekend. He practiced on a limited basis this week.

WR Ike Hillard is questionable with a shoulder injury. He was limited in practice this week.

RB Warrick Dunn has a pinched nerve in back and is questionable. He will be a game time decision.

RB Carnell Williams is out with a knee injury. He did see contact in practice this week.

WR Michael Clayton questionable with a knee injury. He fully practiced on Thursday. Clayton has never lived up to his potential.

Titans:

No significant fantasy injuries.

Redskins:
RB Clinton Portis is probable with an ankle injury. The Redskins expect him to start this weekend. He did miss practice earlier this week.

RB Ledell Betts is out with a knee injury for Monday night.

WR Santana Moss has an injured hamstring and is probable. He missed practice on Friday. There is a mixed message out there if he is expected to play or not.
