The Counselor is IN:
Here are the Week 12 fantasy injuries and my commentary. This is the Weekend Edition.
Cardinals:
WR Larry Fitzgerald is probable with some minor bumps and bruises. Fitzgerald will play on Sunday. He is a good start.
QB Kurt Warner is probable with a banged up left elbow. He has practiced all week and will play on Sunday.
Falcons:
RB Jerious
QB Bryon Leftwich has an ankle injury and is probable. The Falcons have decided to start Harrington this week. Their QB position will remain a Merry Go Round. I would avoid their QB's like the plague.
WR Joe Horne is questionable with a hamstring injury. He missed practice on Tuesday. He will be a game time decision. The signs are pointing to him missing Thursday's game. I would keep him on the bench.
Ravens:
TE Daniel Wilcox is questionable with a foot/ankle injury. He continues to miss games. He is not a safe start and has minimal value when he does.
TE Todd Heap is doubtful for Sunday's game with a hamstring injury. He did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday. He is one of the best fantasy TE in the past has been out with injuries most of this year.
Bills:
RB Marshawn Lynch is out with an ankle injury. Lynch will miss week 12.
Panthers:
WR Steve Smith is probable with an ankle injury. He is likely to play this weekend.
QB Vinny Testaverde is questionable with back stiffness. He was supposed to start this week. He reported back stiffness on Saturday morning.
RB DeShaun Foster is probable with turf toe. He practiced on Thursday and Friday.
Bears:
WR Bernard Berrian is probable with a toe injury. He practiced Friday but not earlier in the week.
Bengals:
WR TJ Houshmandzadeh is probable with a back injury. He practiced on Friday and he is expected to play on Sunday.
Browns:
No significant fantasy injuries.
Cowboys:
WR Isaiah Stanback appears to be active for Thursday Game. He could see an increase in his role with Crayton's injury.
WR Patrick Crayton is Questionable with a sprained ankle. He missed practice on Tuesday. It is a good chance he will not play on Thursday. Look for Hurd to start if Crayton can not play.
Broncos:
RB Travis Henry is out with a partial tear of the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. He has been ruled out for Sunday's game.
RB Selvin Young is questionable with a knee injury. He obtained the injury Monday night but was able to come back into the game. He did not practice early in the week. He was limited in practice on Friday. He is considered to be a game time decision.
WR Javon Walker is questionable with a knee injury. He is expected to start practice this week. He is hopeful that he will be able to play on Sunday. I would remain cautious of
Lions:
No significant fantasy injuries. This is good news for the Lions who play on Thursday.
Packers:
WR Koren Robinson is probable with a knee injury. He missed practice on Tuesday. He should be able to play on Thanksgiving.
RB Ryan Grant has a mild sprained ankle and is questionable. He is considered day to day. He was limited in practice on Tuesday.
Texans:
RB Ahman Green is out with a knee injury. I would keep him on the bench even after he is back.
RB Ron Dayne is listed as probable for this week. All signs point to him not only playing but starting with Green out.
Colts:
WR Marvin Harrison is questionable with a knee injury. He was limited in practice on Tuesday. He remains a game time decision.
WR Anthony Gonzalez is questionable for this week with a hand injury. He was able to practice on Tuesday. He is likely to play on Thursday.
WR Aaron Moorehead obtained a back injury and was placed on the Injured Reserves. Colts are depleting their receiving corp.
Jaguars:
WR Reggie Williams has a back strain and is questionable for this week. He did not practice on Friday but is expected to practice on Sunday.
RB Fred Taylor is probable with a thigh injury. Ole Glass Legs Taylor has been fairly healthy this year. I expect he will share time with Jones-Drew.
Chiefs:
RB Larry Johnson is out with a foot injury. The amount of his carries from the last 3 years have come back to haunt him.
RB Priest Holmes retired from the NFL on Wednesday. This is very sad since Priest looked fairly good on Sunday before the injury.
Dolphins:
RB Jessie Chatman is questionable with a left ankle injury. He was limping on Wednesday. He has been limited in practice all week. He is not a good start against the Steelers on Monday night, even if he was healthy.
Vikings:
RB Adrian Peterson is questionable with a sprained right LCL. He should be back in a few weeks. There were a lot of fantasy owners relieved by the diagnosis rather than a torn ACL. I believe the Vikings will let Peterson continue to recover this week even if he is well enough to play.
Saints:
RB Reggie Bush is questionable with bruised shin. He did not practice on Friday. He is a game time decision.
Patriots:
RB Laurence Maroney is probable with a foot injury. The Patriots are being very cryptic about this injury.
QB Tom Brady has a right shoulder strain. He was limited in practice on Friday. Brady was listed as probable all last season. I don't believe for a moment that he will miss this weekend's game.
Giants:
RB Brandon Jacobs is out with a hamstring injury. He will not play on Sunday. This is bad news for the Giants.
WR Steve Smith is out with a hamstring injury. His shoulder is finally healed but now he is struggling with a hamstring injury.
WR Plaxico Burress is questionable with an ankle injury. He did not practice all week. Burress is a warrior and usually plays through injuries. That said, I would bench him if you have a good back up. If not, wait for the game time decision.
RB Derrick Ward has a groin injury and is questionable for this week. He continues to miss practice and games. The Giants appear short on Runningbacks.
Jets:
WR Laveranues Coles had an ankle injury and is questionable for Thanksgiving. He was limited in practice on Tuesday. It does not look positive for him to play on Thursday.
Raiders:
WR Jerry Porter is probable with a knee injury. He practiced on Thursday and Friday. He will start on Sunday against the Chiefs.
Eagles:
QB Donovan McNabb is out with an ankle and thumb injury. The MRI revealed swelling in the back of the ankle and in the thumb. Neither ankle nor thumb is broken. He has been sporadic when healthy.
WR Kevin Curtis is probable with a thigh injury. He practiced fully on Friday. He is expected to play on Sunday.
RB Brian Westbrook is probable with a knee injury. He has been practicing all week. He will start on Sunday and the Eagles will need him.
Steelers:
WR Santonio Holmes is out with a right sprained ankle.
Chargers:
No significant fantasy injuries.
Seahawks:
QB Matt Hasselbeck is probable with a rib injury. He is expected to play on Sunday.
RB Shaun Alexander is questionable with a multiple injuries of wrist, ankle, and knee. He has been ruled out for Sunday.
WR D.J. Hackett has a knee injury and is questionable. He missed some practice this week but is expected to play this weekend.
49ers:
QB Alex Smith is OUT with a forearm injury. It appears he will be out at least the next 2 weeks and may have season ending surgery. Trent Dilfer will start this week for the 49ers. If you are starting a 49ers QB, your fantasy season is over.
RB Frank Gore is probable with an ankle injury. He was limited in practice on Thursday but practiced fully on Friday. I expect him to start on Sunday.
Rams:
No significant fantasy injuries.
Buccaneers:
WR Michael Clayton has an ankle injury and is probable this week. He did practice on Thursday and Friday.
RB Earnest Graham is probable with an ankle injury. He should start on Sunday.
RB Michael Pittman is out with an ankle injury. He continues to be plagued with injuries.
Titans:
QB Vince Young is probable with a quad contusion. He is expected to miss some practice this week but to start on Sunday.
RB Chris Henry is out serving his suspension for the drug policy violation. He will be out for 4 games.
Redskins:
WR Santana Moss has a heel injury and is probable to play on Sunday. It appears that he will play. He practiced Thursday and Friday.
WR James Thrash is questionable with a high ankle sprain. He is currently in a walking boot. He is expected to not need the walking boot later in the week. Thrash has limited fantasy potential and upside. This injury should not matter to anyone.
WR Antwaan Randle El is probable with a chest injury.
That is all the fantasy injuries for this week.
