Welcome to Fantasy Sports Counselor. Sit back on our Fantasy Couch while we provide a therapeutic look at fantasy baseball, fantasy football, and general sports thoughts.
QB Matt Schaub of Houston. Schaub has been a very hot passer of late.He should continue this against the Vikings.
QB David Garrard of Jacksonville. The Jags are playing against the Bengals- nuff said!
QB Chad Pennington of Miami..Pennington has been hot of late.Denver’s Passing D has been bad and they will be missing Champ Bailey this weekend.
RB Earnest Graham of TampaBay.RB Warrick Dunn is not healthy and TB wants to run on the KC defense.Graham was a good back last year and you should be reminded of it this week.
WR Donnie Avery of St.LouisThis rookie is a speedster that has good hands. He is the running for rookie of the year.Move over Holt.
WR Ted Gin of Miami. He has been getting more comfortable with this offense and is starting to justify his first round pick.It helps that he will be against a depleted Broncos secondary.
Bench their Butts
RB Jamaal Lewis of the Browns. The Browns are playing Baltimore Ravens.Baltimore is extremely tough to run on.Bench him for this week.
RB Willis McGahee of the Ravens. The Browns have shown they can also stop the run. This is combined with Ravens RBBC.
QB Brett Favre of the Jets.Brett is starting to press with the Jets and the Bills have been very tough against the pass.I look for him to continue the trend of throwing interceptions.
RB Edgrrin “Edge” James of Arizona. He is not running well at all.It appears the tires have fallen off of Edge.Hightower is taking more and more carries
TE Jason Witten of Dallas. He is injured but may play with his rib injury. The question is who will be throwing him the ball. The Giants are game planning for him to stop the over the middle passes..
RB Larry Johnson of Kansas City.He is in trouble with the Law and with the League. If you can get anything in a trade for Johnson at this point, grab it.He will probably be suspended for a long time.
I am running for President. No, I am not running for President of these United States of America. I am running President of Cowboys Pride. Cowboys Pride is a wonderful fan site. This site is for everyone and not just Cowboys fans.
Cowboys Pride decided to join in the political season. They have set up a Presidential election with primaries. Monday I won the Primary for the Landry (Coach Landry) Party ticket. I am now on the ballot at Cowboys Pride against a great opponent.
The role of President will be as an advisor to the board at CP. The President will be the face of Cowboys Pride. I am honored to be the candidate. The election will be on next Tuesday, just like another upcoming election.
If any readers have an interest in joining Cowboys Pride, please follow the link and sign up. Once you are signed up, you will be able to Vote for Larry.
RB Brian Westbrook was red hot. He had 167 yards rushing on 22 carries and two touchdowns. He also had 6 catches for 42 yards. He had over 200 yards combined. He was a fantasy stud this last week.
WR Ted Gin was smoking hot. He caught 7 balls for 175 yards. This is amazing from a Dolphins receiver. He is starting to demonstrate why he was a first round pick.
WR Donnie Avery was desert hot. He had 6 receptions for 163 yards and 1 touchdown. He has become the hottest Rookie Wide Receiver in the NFL.
Who is Lukewarm?
RB Marshawn Lynch was lukewarm. He had 13 carries for 61 yards and a touchdown.
QB Jeff Garcia was lukewarm. He threw for 227 yards and went 27 for 43. He was expecting a big day against the Cowboys Defense but they stepped up and stifled Garcia.
Cheifs running game was lukewarm. The massed 80 yards on 20 carries. Unfortunately 20 of the yards were from their QB Thigpin.
Who is Cold? QB Brad Johnson was fridged cold. He was 19 for 33 and 122 yards and a touchdown. That was a 3.7 yards per pass. At least he did not throw a ton of interceptions and they won.
RB Edgerrin James was freezer burnt cold. Edge only gained 17 yards on 7 carries. The tired are bald on the Edge-mobile.
RB Jonathan Stewart was polar cold. This rookie RB has been losing carries to Williams. Williams has stepped up and played extremely well. Stewart only had 10 yards on 8 attempts.
I started this blog post a month and a half ago and some how never finished it. Life has been extremely busy over the last several weeks. I would like to apologize to Felix at Dallastailgate.com for not blogging in more details about their hospitality.
Several of weeks ago, I was able to attend the Monday Night Football game in Dallas between my beloved Dallas Cowboys and the rival Philadelphia Eagles. My wife and I along with our good friends Kim and Adam joined up with Felix and the great guys at Dallastailgate.com. These guys invited us to join them and made us feel like family. They stuffed us with Inside Out Cheeseburgers, brats, wings, adult beverages (for the boys- Kim and Michelle are expecting) and much more.
Felix working the grill.
These guys tailgate right at the parking ramp. They were talking and mingling with the crowd. They would stop and take pictures of the costumes on the fans and make friendly heckling comments with the Eagles fans.
A true fan reminding us that we have five rings.
A Cowboy fan and an Eagle fan- who knew they could get along.
This is a whole family experience for the Dallastailgate.com crew. Felix's young daughter was a full participant. She heckled the Eagles fans as they went by. She also stomped on a mini-Eagles helmet to symbolize how the Cowboys were going to stomp the Eagles.
Dallastailgate.com crew (on left), Joe Cahn, The Commissioner Tailgating.com, Larry "Bud" Litle (far right).
Tailgating is a serious affair. There is even a tailgating association. Joe Cahn, The Commissioner of Tailgating from Tailgating.com, stopped by the tent. He gave his approval to the great event hosted by Dallastailgate.com.
Hans Steiniger of Quest for 31
Hans Steiniger of Quest for 31 also stopped by. Hans is perusing visiting every NFL stadium at least once. He is counting his home town Bills in his trek for 31. He is now been at 22 of the 31 stadiums outside of Buffalo. I loved his Joker face and his fun loving personality.
The Dallastailgate.com Crew
This was the way to enjoy tailgating at the game. It was a pure pleasure to get to the game early. We enjoyed the company and hospitality of the Dallastailgate.com gang. If you are ever at a Cowboys home game, stop by their tent. They have some very cool sponsors including El Dorado Motors, who was giving away $100.00 of gas. They also have Tito's Vodka as a sponsor for their adult beverages.
Things I Have Learned... from the Colts at the Titans.
1) QB Kerry Collins looked solid as the starting QB for the Titans. He had less yardage than Manning and no TDs but he also had no interceptions. He is the right choice for this time instead of Vince Young.
2) TE Dallas Clark is an underrated TE. He is a great tight end and an excellent fantasy Tight End.
3) RB LenDale White has 10 rushing Touchdowns. He leads the league in rushing TDs. I would not have believed White would have of that amount for the season. But he was 10 carries for 13 yards.
4) QB Peyton Manning does not look completely healthy or completely comfortable in the pocket. I am not sure if it is the injury that is bothering him or if he is still has residual effects of missing training camp. He went 26 for 41 for 223 yards and 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
5) The Indy Wide Receivers were missing once again. Peyton found Clark a lot but did not get the ball to his star wide receivers very often. Wayne and Harrison had 4 catches for 41 yards.
6) RB Dominic Rhodes had a decent night running the ball. He had 70 yards on 17 carries.
7) RB Chris Johnson of the Titans also had a solid night. He had 19 carries and 77 yards and a touchdown.
8) The Titans defense looked really sharp. The are for real and will keep the Titans in a lot of games.
9) The Titans are now 7-0 and the only undefeated team. I would not have guessed that the Titans would still be undefeated after 7 games.
Those are a few things I learned from the Colts at the Titans.
Here are the Week 8 fantasy injuries and my commentary.
Cardinals: TE Ben Patrick has a knee injury and is questionable for this weekend. He missed practice this week. I would not count on him playing.
TE Leonard Pope is out with an ankle injury and will not play on Sunday.
WR Anquan Boldin has a head injury and is questionable for Sunday. The plan is for Boldin to play in 30 to 35 snaps of this game. That might be enough to be better than his fantasy substitute. If you have a quality WR to replace him with, then let Boldin ride the bench. If not, then start him and hope.
Falcons: WR Laurent Robinson is probable with a knee injury. He returned to practice and should be ready to play this weekend. You might see a few less snaps by Jenkins. Robinson should only be an off week replacement at this time.
Ravens: RB Willis McGahee has a sore knee and is probable. He fully practiced on Friday. He will play this weekend. The Ravens are committed to the RB by committee but McGahee seems to be getting the most playing time.
WR Demetrius Williams is questionable with an ankle injury. He did not practice on Friday. It does not look positive for him to play this weekend.
WR Yamon Figurs is out for this weekend with a knee injury. He did not practice this week.
WR Derek Mason has an undisclosed illness and is questionable. He missed some practice with this illness. I hope it is not Staph from the Browns.
Bills: No significant fantasy injuries.
Panthers: WR D.J. Hackett is questionable with a sprained MCL. He fully practiced for the first time on Friday since his injury. I don't believe he will play this weekend.
Bears: Off Week 8
Bengals: K Shayne Graham is probable with a sore groin. He practiced on Friday and appears to be ready to play this weekend.
QB Carson Palmer has an elbow injury and is out. It is likely that he is out for the year.
WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh is probable with an ankle injury. He fully practiced on Friday. He will be ready to play this weekend but his value is limited with Palmer out.
WR Antonio Chapman has an ankle injury and is questionable. He missed practice this week.
Browns: TE Kellen Winslow is out with a team suspension. He revealed he has been battling a Staph infection and that the Browns asked him to keep it quiet. The Browns did not like this. I can see a big fight coming with the Players Union. I would bet the Winslow will eventually get paid for this weekend even though he is suspended by the Browns.
TE Steve Heiden has a pectoral injury and is listed as probable. I expect Heiden to play this weekend with Winslow suspended.
Cowboys: QB Tony Romo is questionable with a broken right pinky finger. Most experts believe that Tony will be out until after the week 10 off week. If something happens to Johnson during the game, Tony would be available.
WR Sam Hurd was put on the Injury Reserve and had ankle surgery.
Broncos: Off Week 8
Lions: TE Michael Gaines has a knee injury and is questionable. He is their top TE with Campbell in the IR for the season. If Gaines cannot play then FitzSimmons will start.
Packers: Off Week 8
Texans: RB Chris Taylor has a quad injury and was put on the Injured Reserve.
WR David Anderson is questionable for this weekend. If he plays, he will be the third WR.
WR Andre Davis had surgery to repair the ring finger of his left hand and is out for a few weeks.
Colts: TE Gijon Robinson is questionable with an ankle injury. He missed most of the practices this week.
RB Joesph Addai has a hamstring injury and is questionable. He did not practice on Friday. He will be a game time decision.
Jaguars: WR Mike Walker is out with a knee injury.
WR Matt Jones is available for this weekend. This is news because it was expected he would be suspended for Cocaine possession. It appears the suspension will not come before this weekend's games.
Chiefs: QB Brodie Croyle has been placed in the Injured Reserve which ends his season.
QB Damon Huard has been placed in the Injured Reserve which ends his season. Message to the Chiefs: I am available to play QB for your team. I only ask to be paid the Minimum salary for this season. I have vast QB experience on Madden. I believe I can lead your team as well as any of your QBs this season.
Dolphins: No significant fantasy injuries.
Vikings: Off Week 8
Saints: WR Marques Colston was suffering with a torn ligament in his thumb. He practiced this week and is now off of the team's injury report.
TE Jeremy Shockey is probable with a sports hernia. He should play this weekend.
Patriots: RB Lawerence Maroney has a shoulder injury and was placed on the injured reserve list. He is done for the season.
RB LaMont Jordan is questionable with a right calf injury. He is not expected to play.
RB Sammy Morris has a knee injury and is listed as questionable. He is expected to be out for a couple of weeks. He is not safe start.
Giants: WR Plaxico Burress is probable with a shoulder injury. He should play with no complications.
Jets: WR Laveranues Cole has a thigh injury and is probable. He practiced lightly this week. He is expected to play.
K Mike Nugent is listed as out for this week.
TE Chris Baker is questionable with a back injury.
WR Jerricho Cotchery has a shoulder injury and is probable. He was limited in practice this week.
TE Bubba Franks has a hip injury and is questionable. It does not appear that he will play this weekend.

RB Rashard Mendenhal has been placed in Injured Reserve for his fractured right arm.
RB Carey Davis is probable with an ankle injury. He is expected to play this weekend.
WR Dallas Baker has a shoulder injury and is questionable. He practiced this week.
Chargers: RB LaDainian Tomlinson is probable with a toe injury. He practiced fully on Friday.
WR Chris Chambers is questionable with an ankle injury. He was limited in practice this week.
WR Craig Davis is questionable with a groin injury. Davis is another WR that should not be considered for your team.
Seahawks: QB Matt Hasselbeck has a bulging disc in his back and is out for week 8.
WR Koren Robinson is probable with a knee injury. He is expected to start this weekend.
WR Deion Branch has a heel injury and is questionable. He will not play this weekend even though he is listed as questionable.
49ers: WR Josh Morgan is questionable with a groin injury. He was limited in practice this week.
Rams: RB Antonio Pittman has a cracked fibula and is probable for this weekend. He is expected to play.

WR Malcom Kelly has a knee problem and is questionable. There are mixed messages out there about how bad Kelly is. There is a belief that he will be put on the Injured Reserve.
Things I Have Learned... from the Seahawks at the Bucs.
1) I am not a big fan of Chris Collinsworth but it was nice to watch Sunday Night Football without John Madden. I love John Madden Video Games but I have come to dislike him as a commentator.
2) QB Jeff Garcia appears to have resurrected his career in Tampa. He makes good decisions and can make about any type of pass including shuttle and jump passes. He is starting to look like a fantasy football starting QB.
3) KR Josh Wilson is a good return man for Seattle. His explosiveness also broke open holes for a touchdown more than once. Keep an eye on this special team player.
4) WR Antonio Bryant has developed into a number one Wide Receiver for Tampa. He appears to be on the same page with Garcia. He is worth starting as a third wide or a flex player regularly and a very good off week option.
5) QB/WR Seneca Wallace should not be the backup QB. Wallace should focus on developing as a WR for Seattle. Otherwise he will may end up as the Seahawks version ofKordell "Slash" Stewart.
6) TampaBay's Defense looks very solid. They are tough enough to keep Tampa in any game and could lead them deep into the play offs.
7) The Seahawks seem to be missing their former Kicker Josh Brown. Mare is not the kicker that Brown was for them. No team likes to pay premium dollars for a kicker but I think the Seahawks might be willing to change their mind on Brown if give the opportunity.
8) Both defenses did a fine job against the run. The Bucs did do much better against the pass than the Seahawks.
Those are a few things I learned from the Seahawks at the Bucs game.
After watching the Dallas Cowboys lose the last two weeks, I had a few thoughts about America's Team. My first thought is that the offensive and defensive lines look like a bunch of girls out there. They should change their uniforms to have a skirt. They were pushed around by the Arizona Cardinals and the St. Louis Rams. Is this the team with 13 returning Pro Bowlers from last year?At this rate, none of them will be going to Hawaii unless they go as a team during the playoffs since they are trying not to make the playoffs.
The offensive line could not protect either Romo or Brad Johnson. Romo was put on his butt over 20 times against Arizona and a broken pinkie. This week they could not protect the statuesque Johnson. It is important to remember that you have to give the QB time to throw the ball so T.O. can catch the ball.
On the other side of the ball, the 'Girls, I mean 'Boys, could not stop the run. This week they let the talented Steven Jackson run all over them. The problem is that the Rams have a piecemeal offensive line. There is no reason that Jackson should have been able to run for 100 yards let alone 160.
Then there are the issues in the secondary. I understand that the injury to Newman is devastating. I know that they are even missing the erratic play of 80's Arcade Standard. But could someone please cover the Rams rookie Avery?
I originally was going to suggest that the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders should replace the Boys on the field because they at least would look hot while giving away the game. But then I thought twice about it. The Cheerleaders have a lot of heart. They are willing to try to encourage the fans no matter the score. They come to do their jobs every home game no matter what the score is. I checked the Boys and I did not see much heart. I think the Cheerleaders could have beaten the Rams this week with their heart. It is too bad the Boys are not playing with half the heart of their Cheerleaders.
Here are the Week 7 fantasy injuries and my commentary.
Cardinals: Off Week 7
Falcons: Off Week 7
Ravens: RB Willis McGahee has a sore ribs and a knee and is probable. He is not listed on the injury report.
WR Demetrius Williams is questionable with an ankle injury.
WR Yamon Figurs is out for this weekend with a knee injury.
Bills: QB Trent Edwards has a concussion and is probable for this weekend. He will play but will his head be clear enough to play well.
WR Roscoe Parrish is probable with a thumb injury. He should play on Sunday.
Panthers: WR Muhsin Muhammad has a knee injury and is probable for Sunday. He will play this weekend.
WR D.J. Hackett is out with a sprained MCL.

Browns: TE Kellen Winslow is questionable with an undisclosed injury.
Cowboys: QB Tony Romo is questionable with a broken right pinky finger. He did successfully practice on Friday. Reports are all over the map on the chances that Romo will start. I would leave him on the fantasy bench unless you confirm that he is starting and even then I would have to think twice about it.
WR Sam Hurd was put on the Injury Reserve and had ankle surgery.
Broncos: RB Ryan Torain is questionable with a dislocated elbow. He was limited in practice this week.
WR Eddie Royal is probable with an ankle injury. He fully practiced all week. He should be starting on Monday night.

WR Marques Colston is probable with a torn ligament in his thumb. He was limited in practice on Friday.
K Martin Gramatica was placed on Injured Reserve.
TE Jeremy Shockey is probable with a sports hernia. He should play this weekend.
Patriots: RB Lawerence Maroney has a shoulder injury and is questionable.
RB LaMont Jordan is questionable with a right calf injury.
WR Kelley Washington has an ankle injury and is questionable.
Giants: QB Eli Manning is probable with a chest injury. He should play with no complications.
Jets: WR Laveranues Cole has a thigh injury and is questionable. He was limited in practice this week but is expected to play this weekend.
K Mike Nugent is listed as out for this week.
Raiders: No significant fantasy injuries.
Eagles: Off Week 7
Steelers: RB "Fast" Willie Parker is out for this weekend with a knee injury.
K Jeff Reed has a calf injury and is listed as questionable.
WR Dallas Baker is out with a shoulder injury. Baker should not be on your fantasy team unless you have an extremely deep bench.
Chargers: RB LaDainian Tomlinson is probable with a toe injury. He practiced fully on Friday.
WR Chris Chambers is questionable with an ankle injury.
RB Darren Sproles has an ankle injury and is probable. He should play this weekend.
WR Craig Davis is questionable with a groin injury. Davis is another WR that should not be considered for your team.
Seahawks: QB Matt Hasselbeck has a bulging disc in his back and is out for week 7.
WR Koren Robinson is probable with a knee injury. He is expected to start this weekend.
WR Deion Branch has a heel injury and is questionable. He is did not practice and is not expected to play.
QB/WR Seneca Wallace is probable with a calf injury. He is expected to start at QB for the Seahawks this weekend.
WR Billy McMullen is out with a compound fracture in his right pinkie.
49ers: No significant fantasy injuries. There is a joke here but Gore is a significant fantasy player.
Rams: WR Drew Bennett is out this weekend with a foot injury.
WR Dane Looker is suffering from a concussion and is questionable.
RB Antonio Pittman has a leg injury and is out for week 7.
WR Keenan Burton is questionable with a knee injury.
Buccaneers: WR Joey Galloway is listed as out with a foot injury. He will be a game time decision.
QB Brian Griese is questionable with elbow and shoulder injuries.
WR Antonio Bryant has a foot injury and is probable.
K Matt Bryant is probable with a hamstring injury. He practiced fully on Friday.
WR Maurice Stovall has a hamstring injury and is out for this weekend.

WR Justin McCareins has a hamstring injury and is questionable. He will be a game time decision.

WR Malcom Kelly has a knee problem and is questionable.
RB Ladell Betts is out with a strained lateral collateral knee ligament and strained hamstring.
WR James Thrash has a mild knee sprain and is probable.
QB Drew Brees was steaming hot last weekend. He went 26 for 30 and 320 yards. He had 3 touchdowns.
RB Clinton Portis was smoking hot. He ran for 129 yards on 21 carries. He had 2 touchdowns. Portis is starting to look like his old self more and more.
WR Andre Johnson was flaming hot. He had 10 receptions for 178 yards and 1 touchdown. Amazing what leaving Chicago will do for a receiver.
Who is Lukewarm?
RB Domic Rhodes was lukewarm. He had 25 carries for 73 yards and a touchdown. Domic is replacing Addai and did a decent job on his first week back as a starter.
QB Matt Schaub was lukewarm. He put up some big numbers. He threw for 379 yards with a passing TD and rushed for another TD. He only went 22 for 42 attempts.
WR Jerricho Cotchery was lukewarm. He received 8 catches for 85 yards. Cotchery is the top WR for Favre. He did not perform badly but just did not perform studly.
Who is Cold? Cincinnati's rushing attack was blue lips cold. Perry, Benson, and Fitzpatrick were a combined 21 rushes for 44 yards.
RB Willis McGahee is freezer cold. He rushed for 18 yards on 8 attempts. He did not score. He went from a top level rusher a couple of years ago to an ice cold runner.
The Cowboys Offensive Line was icy cold. Romo was knocked down 20+ times. They gave up a field goal block (which was negated with a time out) and a blocked punt. Bring out the cheerleaders to block because they would have protected more like men.
Things I Have Learned... from the Rams at the Redskins.
1) WR Torry Holt is being taken out of the game by opposing defenses. The Redskins were able to do this. This is severely hurting the Rams' offense and fantasy teams.
2) RB Clinton Portis appears to be healthy and running like his former self. As long as he stays healthy, Portis is a top level running back.
3) RB Steven Jackson is not getting any room to run the ball. His line is not doing their part.
4) K Josh Brown is the bright spot of the Rams offense.
5) QB Jason Campbell continues to improve and look like a superstar waiting to break out.
6) WR Donnie Avery is a good young WR for the Rams. He brings badly needed speed to the Rams team.
7) The Redskins have to be disappointed with this loss. The Rams did earn their first win against a really good team.
Those are a few things I learned from the Rams at the Redskins game.
Here are the Week 6 fantasy injuries and my commentary.

TE Justin Peelle has a knee injury and is probable. He is getting some playing time but not enough to start in your fantasy league.
