The Counselor is IN:
Here are the Week 3 fantasy injuries and my commentary.
Cardinals:
WR Bryant Johnson, 3rd Wide on a squad of talented Wide Receivers, is probable with a hamstring. He will play. He should not be more than a 5 or 6 Wide for your team. He is talented but he will not see enough balls thrown his way to be a starter.
Falcons:
TE Dwayne Blakley is questionable with a pectoral injury. There is a good chance he will not play. He is Crumpler's backup and he should not be on your team.
Ravens:
QB Steve McNair is questionable with a pulled groin. He practiced fully with the team on Wednesday but only partially on Thursday. The Ravens are supposed to announce his status on Friday.
WR Mark Clayton is probable with a toe injury. He is expected to start on Sunday. It may still be wise to keep him on the bench for this weekend.
TE Daniel Wilcox is questionable with a sprained ankle. He is the back up for Heap. He should not be on your fantasy radar.
Bills:
WR Josh Reed is probable with a thigh contusion. He practiced fully on Wednesday. It appears he will play on Sunday.
Panthers:
No significant fantasy injuries.
Bears:
TE Greg Olson is listed as probable for his left knee. He did practice fully on Wednesday. Olson should not be your primary TE until he proves himself and stays healthy.
WR Muhsin Muhammad is probable for this weekend. He played last weekend but only caught one ball. He should play again this weekend but will slightly better results.
Bengals:
WR TJ Houshmandzadeh is listed as probable. He practiced fully on Thursday but not on Wednesday. He will play unless there is a set back.
K Shayne Graham is listed as probable. He practiced fully on Thursday. Stop making tackles Shayne- you are a kicker.
Browns:
No significant fantasy injuries. Last week, I joked that there were no significant fantasy players on the Browns then they drop 50 points on the Bengals. I was wrong.
Cowboys:
WR Terry Glenn is out for Sunday's game. He had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and he hopes to play later this season.
WR Patrick Crayton is probable with a dislocated pinkie. He had a splint put on the pinkie on Monday. I have expected more out of Crayton with Glenn out.
Broncos:
TE Stephen Alexander is questionable with a calf injury. He is mostly a blocking TE so there is no reason to start Alexander.
RB Travis Henry injured his ankle in Sunday's game. Later he came back in the game and carried the ball several more times. He is listed as probable but he will play.
Lions:
RB Kevin Jones is listed as questionable with a foot injury. He was limited in practice on Thursday. I would not start Kevin at this time until we know he is back and ready to run.
RB T.J. Duckett is listed as questionable. It does appear that he will be out 2 to 4 weeks. He has a mild high ankle sprain.
TE Dan Campbell injured his elbow in the game on Sunday and is questionable to play this week. He did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday. Sit him on the bench if you have him.
QB Jon Kitna is probable to play this week. He experienced a mild concussion during the game on Sunday. He has not had any side effects from it.
Packers:
WR Greg
RB Vernand Morency has a knee injury and is listed as questionable. He is the back up running back. He also missed all of practice on Thursday.
TE Bubba Franks is probable with a knee injury. He did not practice on Wednesday but did fully practice on Thursday.
WR James Jones is probable with a hamstring injury that he received Thursday at practice. He had taken over for injured Greg Jennings. We will see if that continues. I would watch this injury carefully because hamstring injuries can be very bad news.
Texans:
RB Ron Dayne is questionable with bruised ribs. He did not practice on Wednesday and was limited on Thursday. He should not be more than your fifth or sixth running back.
RB Ahman Green is probable with a knee injury. He practiced fully on Thursday. I would expect him to start.
WR Andre Johnson has been red hot this season. Now he is out with a sprained posterior cruciate ligament in his knee. He will be out for a few weeks.
Colts:
TE
TE Ben Utecht missed practice on Wednesday. He has a rib injury and is listed as probable. If Dallas Clark can not go, I would expect Utecht to have a big day.
Jaguars:
Kicker Josh Scobee is out with a strained quadriceps muscle. He will miss at least three weeks and possibly up to six week.
WR Matt Jones is probable with a heel injury. He missed practice on Wednesday and was limited on Thursday. Jones has not preformed well this season anyway.
Chiefs:
WR Eddie Kennison is out with a hamstring injury. It is possible he will be back in a couple of weeks but hamstrings are tricky injuries.
Dolphins:
RB Jesse Chatman is probable with a bruised left knee. He is not a starter at this time.
Vikings:
RB
QB Tarvaris Jackson is questionable with a groin injury. He partially practiced on Thursday. He looked great in preseason but is not a fantasy starter yet.
WR Troy Williamson is probable with a hamstring injury. He has been practicing all week. He will play this weekend but he is no better than a fourth wide receiver on your fantasy team.
RB Deuce McAllister is probable with knee injury. He is expected to start on Monday night. The Saints offense has look terrible so far this year. McAllister may get it back on track this week against the Titans.
Patriots:
WR Randy Moss is probable and limited in practice on Thursday. Moss will play this weekend. There is nothing new to Moss not practicing but coming to play on Sunday.
WR Donte' Stallworth is probable with a knee injury. He was limited in practice on Thursday. He will play on Sunday.
WR Kelley Washington is questionable with a hamstring injury. He is the third Patriot Wide Receiver on this list. He is not as likely to play on Sunday. If he plays, he is not likely to be a fantasy presence.
Saints:
No significant fantasy injuries.
Giants:
RB Brandon Jacobs has a sprained MCL and is out for three to five weeks.
QB Jared Lorenzen was limited in practice on Wednesday. This should not matter since Eli was able to play on Sunday.
WR Plaxico Burress is probable with an ankle injury. He did not practice on Thursday but is expected to play on Sunday.
WR Steve Smith (not of Panthers fame) fractured his scapula is out for the next couple weeks.
Jets:
QB Chad Pennington is probable with an ankle injury. He was limited in practice on Wednesday but is expected to start on Sunday. He is historically good against the Dolphins.
WR Jerricho Cotchery has a shoulder injury and is questionable for Sunday. He was limited in practice on Wednesday.
Raiders:
QB Josh McCown is listed as probable with a hand and an ankle injury. He should be starting this weekend.
RB LaMont Jordan is probable with back problems. He was limited in practice on Thursday.
Eagles:
TE L.J. Smith is listed as probable with a groin injury. He sat out of practice all week. He is expected to start on Sunday but he is not 100%.
RB Brian Westbrook is questionable with a strained knee. He did not practice on Thursday. This is a huge injury for your fantasy team and for the Eagles. Watch his status carefully this weekend if you need to start him.
Steelers:
RB Najeh Davenport is probable with a hamstring injury. He did practice fully on Thursday.
Chargers:
No significant fantasy injuries.
Seahawks:
WR D.J. Hackett is out with a high ankle sprain. So much for his sleeper status.
RB Maurice Morris is questionable with a hip injury. He did not practice on Thursday. Morris is Alexander's backup. This should only matter if Alexander gets hurt.
49ers:
WR Darrell Jackson is probable with back problems. He has not practiced all week.
WR Arnaz Battle is probable with a groin injury. He did practice in limited form on Thursday.
Rams:
WR Drew Bennett is probable. He played on Sunday and will play again this weekend.
QB Marc Bulger has sore ribs and is probable for week three. He will start the game on Sunday.
Buccaneers:
RB Carnell Williams is probable with bruised ribs. He stated last Sunday and received a ton of carries. This weekend should be similar.
Titans:
RB LenDale White injured his foot and he is probable. LenDale should play on Sunday. It is hard to know which RB will play more but White should be on the field.
Redskins:
No significant fantasy injuries.
That is all the fantasy injuries for this week.
