Week 4 Fantasy Injuries

The Counselor is IN:

Here are the Week 4 fantasy injuries and my commentary.

Cardinals:
WR Anquan Boldin
is questionable with a hip injury. The Cardinals are hopeful that he will play. I would bench him for this week unless his status gets update to a more positive one.

Falcons:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Ravens:
QB Steve McNair
is probable with a pulled groin. He practiced fully with the team on Wednesday. Steve will play this weekend.

WR Mark Clayton is probable with a toe injury. He is expected to start on Sunday. He only partially practiced on Wednesday.

TE Todd Heap is probable with a concussion. He practiced fully on Wednesday. He does not appear to be having any post concussion symptoms.

Bills:
QB J.P. Losman injured his knee last Sunday. He is questionable for this weekend. He is not worth starting at this point anyway.

Panthers:
QB Jake Delhomme is questionable with a strained throwing elbow. Jake has been really good this year but he may be a game time decision.

Bears:

No significant fantasy injuries.

Bengals:
RB Rudi Johnson
is questionable with a hamstring injury. The news out of Cincinnati is not positive. Bench Rudi unless he is upgraded.

Browns:
TE Kellen Winslow
is questionable with a "mild subluxation" of his left shoulder (partial dislocation). He did not practice on Wednesday. I would leave Kellen on the bench.

Cowboys:
WR Terry Glen
n is out for Sunday's game. He had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and he hopes to play later this season.

Broncos:
QB Jay Cutler is probable with an ankle injury. Cutler will start. He is a good 2nd QB for your starters off week.

WR Javon Walker
is probable with inflammation in his right knee. He sat out of practice on Wednesday. Don't worry about Walker, he will play.

Lions:
RB Kevin Jones is listed as probable with a foot injury. He had three carries on Sunday. He will be getting the ball on a limited basis for now.

RB T.J. Duckett is listed as questionable. It does appear that he will be out 2 to 4 weeks. He has a mild high ankle sprain.

WR Calvin Johnson is questionable with back issue. He was held out of practice on Wednesday. Johnson has had a great rookie season. Keep him on the bench if you can and if not watch this closely.

Packers:

WR Greg Jennings is listed as probable with a hamstring and was limited in practice on Wednesday. Jennings had a great game on Sunday. He will start but there are no guarantees of the kind of weekend he will have.

WR Donald Driver has an injured toe and is probable. Don't worry about he will start and should be in your starting lineup.

TE Bubba Franks is questionable with a knee injury. He did not practice on Wednesday.

Texans:
RB Ron Dayne
is probable with bruised ribs. He may be the man this week with Green fairly injured.

RB Ahman Green
is questionable with a knee injury. He had an MRI on his left knee. It appears he will be kept out of the game this weekend.

WR Andre Johnson
has been red hot this season. Now he is out with a sprained posterior cruciate ligament in his knee. He will be out for a few weeks.

Colts:
TE Dallas Clark is probable with a neck injury. He will play this weekend. He is a must play if you have him.

Jaguars:
Bye Week

Chiefs:

WR Eddie Kennison is out with a hamstring injury. It is possible he will be back in a couple of weeks but hamstrings are tricky injuries.

RB Larry Johnson is Questionable with a hamstring injury. LJ has been off to a slow start with a bad offensive line. This will only make it worse. This injury may nag him all year even if he gets to play this weekend.

Dolphins:

No significant fantasy injuries.

Vikings:
RB Chester Taylor is questionable with bruised oblique muscle. He was at practice on Wednesday but he did not limited in practice. The coaching staff have declared him the starter if he is healthy. Are they not watching the film of Peterson???

QB Tarvaris Jackson is questionable with a groin injury. He partially practiced on Wednesday. He looked great in preseason but is not a fantasy starter yet.

WR Troy Williamson is questionable with a hamstring injury. He practiced partially on Wednesday. He is not worth starting as an off week replacement even when healthy.

Saints:
Off Week

Patriots:
RB Laurence Maroney is probable with a groin injury and limited in practice on Wednesday.
Maroney will play on Sunday.

WR Kelley Washington
is questionable with a hamstring injury. He is the third Patriot Wide Receiver on this list. He is not as likely to play on Sunday. If he plays, he is not likely to be a fantasy presence.

Giants:
RB Brandon Jacobs has a sprained MCL and is out for three to five weeks. He is officially listed as questionable but he will not play.

WR Plaxico Burress is probable with an ankle injury. He did not practice on Wednesday because a specialist was checking out his knee. He has a "severely sprained ankle." He still expected to play.

RB Derrick Ward
is questionable with an ankle injury. He is expected to start since Jacobs is still out.

Jets:
QB Chad Pennington is probable with an ankle injury. He will start this Sunday.

Raiders:
QB Josh McCown
is listed as questionable with a broken big toe. Culpepper is expected to start this weekend.

Eagles:

TE L.J. Smith is listed as OUT after groin surgery. He has been ruled out for Sunday's game.

RB Brian Westbrook
is questionable with a strained knee. He did not practice on Wednesday. He is expected to play on Sunday.

Steelers:

WR Hines Ward is questionable with a knee injury. He had an MRI that showed no tears. That is positive for Ward and the Steelers. There is a real good chance he will not play this weekend.

Chargers:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Seahawks:
RB Shaun Alexander is probable for this weekend. He has a broken bone in his wrist. He will play.

RB Maurice Morris is questionable with a hip injury. He is expected to be backing up Alexander this weekend.

49ers:
TE Vernon Davis is out for the next two weeks with a knee injury. He will not play.

Rams:
TE Randy McMichael is probable with a strained hamstring. He will keep playing through it.

RB Steven Jackson is out with a 40 percent tear of the groin muscle. Ouch! He will be out at least a few weeks.

Buccaneers:
RB Carnell Williams is probable with bruised ribs. He stated last Sunday. His fumbling is costing him carries and is more detrimental than the injury.

WR Joey Galloway
is listed as probable for this week. He rested on Wednesday but he should play on Sunday.

Titans:

Off Week

Redskins:
Off Week

That is all the fantasy injuries for this week.

NLS

The Counselor is IN:

I have posted an image promoting NLS (No Limit Sportsline) on the right side of this blog. I have been enjoying my time on their site. If you have not checked them out, please venture over and enjoy the awesome fantasy environment and tell them that I sent you.

In the previous post entitled No Limits Sportsline, I gave some false information about NLS. I stated in that post "It is a betting site..." which is incorrect information. On the NLS site, you earn fake (virtual) money to buy items or to virtually bet on games. It is not about betting cash. Sorry about my confusion. I hope it did not keep anyone from checking out NLS.

Week 3 Fantasy Injuries

The Counselor is IN:

Here are the Week 3 fantasy injuries and my commentary.

Cardinals:
WR Bryant Johnson, 3rd Wide on a squad of talented Wide Receivers, is probable with a hamstring. He will play. He should not be more than a 5 or 6 Wide for your team. He is talented but he will not see enough balls thrown his way to be a starter.

Falcons:
TE Dwayne Blakley is questionable with a pectoral injury. There is a good chance he will not play. He is Crumpler's backup and he should not be on your team.

Ravens:
QB Steve McNair is questionable with a pulled groin. He practiced fully with the team on Wednesday but only partially on Thursday. The Ravens are supposed to announce his status on Friday.

WR Mark Clayton is probable with a toe injury. He is expected to start on Sunday. It may still be wise to keep him on the bench for this weekend.

TE Daniel Wilcox is questionable with a sprained ankle. He is the back up for Heap. He should not be on your fantasy radar.

Bills:
WR
Josh Reed is probable with a thigh contusion. He practiced fully on Wednesday. It appears he will play on Sunday.

Panthers:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Bears:
TE Greg Olson is listed as probable for his left knee. He did practice fully on Wednesday. Olson should not be your primary TE until he proves himself and stays healthy.

WR Muhsin Muhammad is probable for this weekend. He played last weekend but only caught one ball. He should play again this weekend but will slightly better results.

Bengals:
WR TJ Houshmandzadeh is listed as probable. He practiced fully on Thursday but not on Wednesday. He will play unless there is a set back.

K Shayne Graham is listed as probable. He practiced fully on Thursday. Stop making tackles Shayne- you are a kicker.

Browns:
No significant fantasy injuries. Last week, I joked that there were no significant fantasy players on the Browns then they drop 50 points on the Bengals. I was wrong.

Cowboys:
WR Terry Glenn is out for Sunday's game. He had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and he hopes to play later this season.

WR Patrick Crayton is probable with a dislocated pinkie. He had a splint put on the pinkie on Monday. I have expected more out of Crayton with Glenn out.

Broncos:
TE Stephen Alexander is questionable with a calf injury. He is mostly a blocking TE so there is no reason to start Alexander.

RB Travis Henry injured his ankle in Sunday's game. Later he came back in the game and carried the ball several more times. He is listed as probable but he will play.

Lions:
RB Kevin Jones
is listed as questionable with a foot injury. He was limited in practice on Thursday. I would not start Kevin at this time until we know he is back and ready to run.

RB T.J. Duckett is listed as questionable. It does appear that he will be out 2 to 4 weeks. He has a mild high ankle sprain.

TE Dan Campbell injured his elbow in the game on Sunday and is questionable to play this week. He did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday. Sit him on the bench if you have him.

QB Jon Kitna is probable to play this week. He experienced a mild concussion during the game on Sunday. He has not had any side effects from it.

Packers:
WR Greg Jennings
is listed as questionable with a hamstring. He did not practice on Thursday.

RB Vernand Morency has a knee injury and is listed as questionable. He is the back up running back. He also missed all of practice on Thursday.

TE Bubba Franks is probable with a knee injury. He did not practice on Wednesday but did fully practice on Thursday.

WR James Jones is probable with a hamstring injury that he received Thursday at practice. He had taken over for injured Greg Jennings. We will see if that continues. I would watch this injury carefully because hamstring injuries can be very bad news.

Texans:
RB Ron Dayne
is questionable with bruised ribs. He did not practice on Wednesday and was limited on Thursday. He should not be more than your fifth or sixth running back.

RB Ahman Green is probable with a knee injury. He practiced fully on Thursday. I would expect him to start.

WR Andre Johnson has been red hot this season. Now he is out with a sprained posterior cruciate ligament in his knee. He will be out for a few weeks.

Colts:
TE Dallas Clark is questionable with a neck injury. He has also been a hot fantasy player. He is expected to start on Sunday. He missed practice on Thursday. I would watch this one in case the neck is worse later this weekend.

TE Ben Utecht missed practice on Wednesday. He has a rib injury and is listed as probable. If Dallas Clark can not go, I would expect Utecht to have a big day.

Jaguars:
Kicker Josh Scobee
is out with a strained quadriceps muscle. He will miss at least three weeks and possibly up to six week.

WR Matt Jones is probable with a heel injury. He missed practice on Wednesday and was limited on Thursday. Jones has not preformed well this season anyway.

Chiefs:
WR Eddie Kennison is out with a hamstring injury. It is possible he will be back in a couple of weeks but hamstrings are tricky injuries.

Dolphins:
RB Jesse Chatman is probable with a bruised left knee. He is not a starter at this time.

Vikings:
RB Chester Taylor
is questionable with bruised oblique muscle. He was at practice on Thursday but he did not limited in practice.

QB Tarvaris Jackson
is questionable with a groin injury. He partially practiced on Thursday. He looked great in preseason but is not a fantasy starter yet.

WR Troy Williamson is probable with a hamstring injury. He has been practicing all week. He will play this weekend but he is no better than a fourth wide receiver on your fantasy team.

RB Deuce McAllister is probable with knee injury. He is expected to start on Monday night. The Saints offense has look terrible so far this year. McAllister may get it back on track this week against the Titans.

Patriots:
WR Randy Moss
is probable and limited in practice on Thursday. Moss will play this weekend. There is nothing new to Moss not practicing but coming to play on Sunday.

WR Donte' Stallworth is probable with a knee injury. He was limited in practice on Thursday. He will play on Sunday.

WR Kelley Washington is questionable with a hamstring injury. He is the third Patriot Wide Receiver on this list. He is not as likely to play on Sunday. If he plays, he is not likely to be a fantasy presence.

Saints:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Giants:
RB Brandon Jacobs
has a sprained MCL and is out for three to five weeks.

QB Jared Lorenzen was limited in practice on Wednesday. This should not matter since Eli was able to play on Sunday.

WR Plaxico Burress is probable with an ankle injury. He did not practice on Thursday but is expected to play on Sunday.

WR Steve Smith (not of Panthers fame) fractured his scapula is out for the next couple weeks.

Jets:
QB Chad Pennington
is probable with an ankle injury. He was limited in practice on Wednesday but is expected to start on Sunday. He is historically good against the Dolphins.

WR Jerricho Cotchery has a shoulder injury and is questionable for Sunday. He was limited in practice on Wednesday.

Raiders:
QB Josh McCown
is listed as probable with a hand and an ankle injury. He should be starting this weekend.

RB LaMont Jordan is probable with back problems. He was limited in practice on Thursday.

Eagles:
TE L.J. Smith
is listed as probable with a groin injury. He sat out of practice all week. He is expected to start on Sunday but he is not 100%.

RB Brian Westbrook is questionable with a strained knee. He did not practice on Thursday. This is a huge injury for your fantasy team and for the Eagles. Watch his status carefully this weekend if you need to start him.

Steelers:
RB Najeh Davenport is probable with a hamstring injury. He did practice fully on Thursday.

Chargers:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Seahawks:
WR D.J. Hackett is out with a high ankle sprain. So much for his sleeper status.

RB Maurice Morris is questionable with a hip injury. He did not practice on Thursday. Morris is Alexander's backup. This should only matter if Alexander gets hurt.

49ers:
WR Darrell Jackson
is probable with back problems. He has not practiced all week.

WR Arnaz Battle is probable with a groin injury. He did practice in limited form on Thursday.

Rams:
WR Drew Bennett
is probable. He played on Sunday and will play again this weekend.

QB Marc Bulger has sore ribs and is probable for week three. He will start the game on Sunday.

Buccaneers:
RB Carnell Williams
is probable with bruised ribs. He stated last Sunday and received a ton of carries. This weekend should be similar.

Titans:
RB LenDale White injured his foot and he is probable. LenDale should play on Sunday. It is hard to know which RB will play more but White should be on the field.

Redskins:
No significant fantasy injuries.

That is all the fantasy injuries for this week.

Cowboys pick up a Suspended Tank

The counselor is IN:

According to an
ESPN story, The Dallas Cowboys have come to an agreement with suspended DT Tank Johnson. Tank will not be eligible to play for the Cowboys until week 9. He was suspended after violating his probation with a gun charge.

This blog post will not be unbiased. I am a Dallas Cowboy fan. I started loving the Cowboys back in the days of Roger and Tony. I have been one through thick and thin. I will be posting this from a fan's perspective.

The Dallas Cowboys signing of former Chicago Bears DT Tank Johnson brings mixed feelings for this Cowboy fan. Tank Johnson is a heck of a defensive lineman. But we also do not need troublemakers on our team. I remember the mid to late 90's when the behaviors on some Cowboy players were horrific.

Johnson was signed for $255,000 this season, the prorated portion of a minimum contract. This is a great price for a really good defensive lineman. The cost financially lends itself to the Cowboys taking a chance on Tank. He should be able to step in and help a defensive line devastated with the season ending injury to starting nose tackle
Jason Ferguson.

I am trying to balance out the good possibilities with the bad that come from signing Tank Johnson. He could make our defense much better. He could also be a cancer to our team. Ultimately I have to give Tank Johnson a chance for redemption. I am hopeful that he will be a changed man for his own sake and the Cowboys. I know that I have needed several second chances in my life. I also know that I had to make the best out of them when given them or I would pay the consequences. Hopefully Tank understands that a second chance also means that everyone will be watching your behavior like a hawk.

Wade Wilson ponders his suspension

The Counselor is IN:

Dallas' Quarterback coach Wade Wilson has diabetes. In an attempt better control his diabetes, Wilson bought human growth hormones. HGH is illegal for anyone in the NFL to buy, including coaches. Wilson did not know the rule applied to coaches when he purchased them. He did turn over all of his records to the league offices so he could prove he was not distributing HGH to the players. His attempt to control his health issues cost him $100,000 and a five game suspension. He made a mistake and has been paying for it.

According to an ESPN article, Wilson is curious why his bad choice cost him a huge portion of his salary along with a five game suspension when Coach Belichick will not serve a suspension for on the field cheating.

"I did something wrong, but I did it only to benefit myself, not to gain a competitive advantage," Wilson said. "I accepted my punishment and moved on, but this is kind of a different deal. The percentage of my salary that I was fined is substantially more than the percentage he was fined as far as I can tell. I mean, $500,000 is nothing to laugh at -- but neither is $100,000. The punishment is definitely not the same in my opinion. (ESPN)

"I'm contemplating whether to write a letter because I accepted the punishment for my violation didn't appeal and went about my business. All I'm asking for is an explanation, and I know exactly what the commissioner is going to say because I've read his comments, but it might make me feel better." (ESPN)

Wilson later said he might explore whether the window in which he had to appeal his punishment might still be open. He's hoping to use Belichick's punishment to make the point that he believes the sanctions he suffered were unfair in comparison. (ESPN)

The punishments do not seem to balance out in severity. It seems that the League is more concerned about personal use of HGH for a true health reason rather than cheating on the field of play. It seems that the League's priorities are out of line on this one.

Commissioner Roger Goodell has done a great job up till now. I am assuming that he will get it right most of the time. Hopefully he will review both cases and see his inconstancy.

Week 2 Fantasy Injuries

The Counselor is IN:

Here are the Week 1 fantasy injuries and my commentary. When a player is placed on Injured Reserve for the season, I will mention it that week but not every week afterwards.

Cardinals:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Falcons:
WR Laurent Robinson started last week's game. He is now listed as questionable with a hamstring. Pulling a hammy when you finally get a chance to start sticks for Robinson. This Illinois State product could be a deep sleeper if he can stay healthy. Keep an eye on him.

Ravens:
QB Steve McNair pulled his groin muscle Monday night is questionable with it. Kyle Boller took over and he has been practicing with the first team. I would not expect to see McNair play this weekend.

WR Mark Clayton is probable with a toe injury. He only practiced in limited form. It might be better to bench Clayton this week.

TE Todd Heap is probable with an elbow injury. He practiced fully on Wednesday. Heap will play and should be started.

Bills:
TE Kevin Everett
has a fractured spine. The doctors are hopeful that Everett will be able to walk again.

WR Josh Reed is probable with a thigh contusion. He did not practice again on Wednesday.

Panthers:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Bears:
TE Greg Olson is listed as Questionable for his left knee. He did not practice on Wednesday. Olson should not be your primary TE until he proves himself and stays healthy.

WR Muhsin Muhammad is probable for this weekend. He played last weekend but only caught one ball. He should play again this weekend but will slightly better results.

Bengals:
WR Antonio Chapman is out with a Hamstring injury. He was released from their Bengals this week.

WR TJ Houshmandzadeh is listed as probable. He practiced fully on Thursday. He will play unless there is a set back.

K Shayne Graham is listed as probable. He practiced fully on Thursday. I would still give this another week if you have a good backup kicker. If not, start Graham and hope he does not re-injure himself. Stop making tackles Shayne- you are a kicker.

Browns:
No significant fantasy injuries. Of course that is assuming they have significant fantasy players on the Browns.

Cowboys:
WR Terry Glenn is out for Sunday's game. He had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Thursday and he hopes to play later this season.

Broncos:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Lions:
RB Kevin Jones
is listed as questionable with a foot injury. He was limited in practice on Thursday. I would not start Kevin at this time until we know he is back and ready to run.

RB T.J. Duckett is listed as questionable. It does appear that he will actually be out 2 to 4 weeks.

Packers:
WR Greg Jennings
is listed as questionable with a hamstring. He fully practiced on Thursday and should be ready to start this weekend.

RB Vernand Morency has a knee injury and is listed as questionable. He is the back up running back. He also missed all of practice on Thursday.

Texans:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Colts:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Jaguars:
Kicker Josh Scobee
is out with a strained quadriceps muscle. He will miss at least three weeks and possibly up to six week.

Chiefs:
WR Eddie Kennison is out with a hamstring injury. It is possible he will be back in a couple of weeks but hamstrings are tricky injuries.

Dolphins:
RB Jesse Chatman is questionable with a bruised left knee. He missed practice again on Thursday. He is not a starter at this time.

Vikings:
RB Chester Taylor is questionable with bruised oblique muscle. He was at practice on Thursday but he did not participate in practice.

WR Robert Ferguson
is listed as probable for an ankle injury. He has practiced fully this week.

Patriots:
QB Tom Brady
is probable with a shoulder injury and missed part of practice on Thursday. There is no chance that he will not start on Sunday. Start him unless you hear he is not going to play.

WR Randy Moss is probable and limited in practice on Thursday. Moss will play this weekend. There is nothing new to Moss not practicing but coming to play on Sunday.

Saints:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Giants:
Kicker Lawerence Tynes
is injured with a calf strain. He was out from practice on Thursday. If he stays injured, the Giants may pick up another kicker pretty quickly. Keep an eye on this situation.

QB Eli Manning has a bruised right shoulder and he is questionable. He did some light practicing on Thursday. I would keep him on the bench this week and see how he is next week.

RB Brandon Jacobs has a sprained MCL and is out for three to five weeks.

Jets:
RB Thomas Jones
is probable and did not fully participate in practice on Thursday. If you have a good back up, bench Jones. Otherwise keep a close eye on this injury.

QB Chad Pennington is questionable with an ankle injury. It is being reported that he will not start Sunday but they will go with Kellen Clemens.

Raiders:
QB Josh McCown
is listed as probable with a hand and an ankle injury. He practiced fully on Thursday. He should be starting this weekend.

Eagles:
TE L.J. Smith
is listed as probable with a groin injury but he has practiced all week. He is expected to start on Sunday but he is not 100%.

Steelers:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Chargers:
TE Antonio Gates
is probable with a back injury. He did not practice on Wednesday.

49ers:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Seahawks:
WR D.J. Hackett is out with a high ankle sprain. So much for his sleeper status.

Rams:
WR Drew Bennett
is probable and he practiced on Wednesday.

Buccaneers:
RB Carnell Williams
is questionable with bruised ribs. He should be starting on Sunday. At this time, he is not a starting fantasy back.

Titans:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Redskins:
QB Jason Campbell
is listed as probable for his left knee. He should be close to 100 percent and will start this weekend.

RB Clinton Portis is probable for his bruised ribs. Last week it was an ankle and this week it is ribs. He is a ball of injuries just waiting to happen.

That is all the fantasy injuries for this week.

No Limit Sportsline

The Counselor is IN:

There is a great Fantasy Resource out there called No Limit Sportsline. It is a betting site (which I am not promoting) but it also is so much more. Check them out and tell them that I sent you.

The cheaters- New England Patriots

The Counselor is IN:

The New England Patriots are cheaters. It is hard to argue against the video tape evidence. The big question is what should be done about it.

Here are my thoughts. Firstly, I think the Patriots should lose multiple draft picks, including their number one pick. Belichick should be suspended for several games to be made an example of. The Patriots also should forfeit their victory on Sunday and the Jets should have the win, since the Patriots cheated to get their victory.

I have read several opinions on the Patriots cheating but I have not found any that call for the forfeit of Sunday's game. The game was won by the Patriots cheating. They should not be rewarded for cheating.

I know that many people will not agree the severity of my punishment. If it is not severe, then others will try to cheat in the same way. The integrity of the game is at stake. If we are going to suspend players for bad off the field behavior (which we should), then we need to suspend those that are cheating during the game, including coaches.

Injury Update- Glenn

The Counselor is IN:

Here is the latest rumor. WR Terry Glenn of the Dallas Cowboys will be out the rest of the year. Supposedly, it was posted on the Cowboys website but quickly pulled off and replaced by the out at least 2 weeks report. Look for an announcement soon to confirm this rumor. The value of Patrick Crayton is quickly rising. Pick him up if un-owned in your league.

Week 1 Fantasy Injuries

The Counselor is IN:

Here are the Week 1 fantasy injuries and my commentary. When a player is placed on Injured Reserve for the season, I will mention it that week but not every week afterwards.

Cardinals:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Falcons:
QB D.J. Shockley was placed on Injured Reserves for ACL repair and is out for the season. This should not affect your season unless you’re in a 30 person league and a Falcon fan.

WR Brian Finneran is out for the year on the Injured Reserved for knee reconstruction surgery. It just gets worse and worse for the Falcons.

Ravens:
TE Daniel Wilcox is probable with his ankle injury. Wilcox is Todd Heap's backup. Unless Heap is injured, Wilcox will not be of any value for your fantasy team.

WR Mark Clayton is probable with a sprained ankle. He was running full speed at practice on Monday. He will start and could be a decent third wide receiver for your team.

Bills:
WR Lee Evans is probable with a calf strain. Evans will start this week without a problem. He will be facing the Bronco's and their tough group of CB's. You might want to start someone else if you can.

Panthers:
TE Michael Gaines was placed on Injury Reserve on Sunday and then waived from the team with a settlement for his injury on Tuesday. He might be coaching a Mighty Might Football team this year and will have some value to them but not your fantasy team.

Bears:
TE Greg Olson is listed as Questionable for his left knee. He did not practice on Wednesday. This is concerning. He is 50/50 to play. Olson should not be your primary TE until he proves himself. But if he is, find someone else to start this week in case he sits this one out.

WR Muhsin Muhammad missed practice on Monday for general soreness. He is probable to play on Sunday. He is going against a tough San Diego defense but he should be fine as a third WR.

Bengals:
WR Antonio Chapman is out with a Hamstring injury. Chapman is a fine reserve player with some upside but should not consider for starting except for a possible off week here or there.

WR TJ Houshmandzadeh is listed as questionable for Monday night and did not practice on Thursday. Coach Marvin Lewis stated that he is not worried about TJ missing practice and expects him to start Monday night. TJ not practicing on Thursday might not worry Marvin but it does worry me. I would keep a close eye on this injury before pulling the trigger to start him.

K Shayne Graham is listed as questionable with a bruised hip for Monday night. A hip injury to your kicker is bad news. Graham should play but will he be able to kick field goals over 40 yards? If you have a good back up, bench Graham until you see how he plays.

TE Reggie Kelly is probable with a bruised right hip. Kelly is more of blocking TE than a pass catching TE. Kelly should start but do not expect much fantasy value out of him.

RB Chris Perry is on the PUP for an ankle injury. He will be allowed to return after the first six weeks of the season.

Browns:
No significant fantasy injuries. Of course that is assuming they have significant fantasy players on the Browns.

Cowboys:
WR Terry Glenn is questionable for Sunday's game. He is having swelling in his repaired knee. He did not practice on Thursday after practicing on Wednesday. It appears he will be out for a couple weeks. Put him on your bench and leave him there until he can practice a few days in a row. You might want to see if Crayton is available in your league.

K Martin Gramatica
has been placed injured reserve ending his season and the competition for the Cowboys kicker. Gramatica might receive an injury settlement but Nick Folk did win the kicking job.

Broncos:
RB Travis Henry is listed as probable with a knee sprain. Henry is reporting that he is healthy and ready to start his rushing career in Denver. He will start and is ready to run against his old team in Buffalo. He should be started.

WR Rod Smith is on the PUP and is not eligible to return until week 7. If he does return then, he will be using his walker to run routes.

TE Teyo Johnson
is on the IR for the rest of the season. This is no big loss for the Broncos.

Lions:
WR Mike Furrey
is listed as questionable with knee soreness but he should play on Sunday. He is slated to start opposite of Roy Williams but he has Calvin Johnson breathing down his neck.

Packers:
WR Greg Jennings
is listed as probable with a hamstring. He was limited in practice on Thursday, which is concerning, but he reports he is not in pain. He is not good play this week.

RB Vernand Morency has a knee injury and is listed as probable. He is the back up running back. He also missed part of practice.

RB Brandon Jackson is also listed as probable and missed part of practice Thursday. He is probable for a concussion. He is expected to play and start on Sunday. Jackson and Coach McCarthy both pronounced Jackson ready to go for this week.

WR Donald Driver is the fourth Packer's fantasy player listed as probable this week. His injury is to his foot. Driver should start and would be a good number two WR.

Texans:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Colts:
TE Mike Seidman, was placed on injured reserve and is out for the season. He was their 4th TE. If he landed on your team by mistake, get rid of him quickly even if it is for a cheerleader.

Jaguars:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Chiefs:
QB Damon Huard is listed as probable for a calf injury. This is a minor issue and he will start for the Chiefs. He should not be starting for your team on week 1.

Dolphins:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Vikings:
WR Bobby Wade
, top wide receiver for the Vikings, is listed as day to day for an ankle injury but he practiced fully today. He will start against Atlanta on Sunday.

WR Robert Ferguson
is listed as probable for an ankle injury. He is only worth 6th receiver status when healthy.

Saints:
TE Mark Campbell is listed as out for the game. Since he is their #2 TE, he should not be your #1. Bench him if you have him and then pick up someone for him. He is not worth owning.

Patriots:
QB Tom Brady
is probable with a shoulder injury and missed part of practice on Thursday. There is no chance that he will not start on Sunday. Start him unless you hear he is not going to play.

WR Chad Jackson is on the PUP list. He will be out through week six of the season.

Giants:
WR Plaxico Burress
was listed as probable but now has been removed from the injury list. He will start for the Giants.

Jets:
RB Thomas Jones
is questionable and did not fully participate in practice on Thursday day. If you have a good back up, bench Jones. Otherwise keep a close eye on this injury.

Eagles:
TE L.J. Smith
is listed as questionable with a groin injury but he has practiced all week. He is expected to start on Sunday.

Steelers:
TE Health Miller is listed as probable to start. Coach Tomlin stated that Miller is healthy and will start. His match up with be tough this week.

Chargers:
RB Michael Turner
is listed as probable but he practiced fully on Thursday. He should be backing up Tomlinson on Sunday.

49ers:
RB Frank Gore
is probable for his hand injury. He will be starting Monday night. Start him if you have him.

WR Darrell Jackson missed practice on Tuesday. It appears he will be starting on Monday night also.

Rams:
WR Drew Bennett
is questionable and missed practice on Wednesday. He returned to limited practice on Thursday. It is not recommended to start Bennett this week.

WR Torry Holt was listed as probable but since then has practiced and has been removed from the injury report.

Buccaneers:
TE Alex Smith
is probable but has practiced all week. Smith is not a great start even when healthy.

Titans:
WR David Givens
is another player on the PUP. When he comes back, he still will not be worth owning.

Redskins:
QB Jason Campbell
is listed as probable for his left knee. He should be close to 100 percent and will start this weekend.

RB Clinton Portis is probable for his right knee. He practiced fully on Thursday and most of the week. He will be starting. You could do worse for a number two back.

That is all the fantasy injuries for this week.

Week 1 Fantasy Injuries- Thursday Game Only

The Counselor is IN:

Here are the Week 1 fantasy injuries for the Thursday game and my commentary.

There are no significant players injured in this game. In case you have an interest in non-significant players, then here are a couple of injuries.

TE Mark Campbell, Saints, is listed as out for the game. Since he is their #2 TE, he should not be your #1. Bench him if you have him and then pick up someone for him. He is not worth owning.

TE Mike Seidman, Colts, was placed on injured reserve and is out for the season. He is their 4th TE. If he landed on your team by mistake, get rid of him quickly even if it is for a cheerleader.

I will have the injuries for the rest of the league later in the week.

Try to wait patiently for the NFL to start

The Counselor is IN:

After having four weeks of preseason games, this weekend had none. No games except the reruns of these same preseason games on the NFL network. Preseason games are not the same as regular season games but they are better than no games at all.

I am salivating at the thought of real NFL games starting on Thursday. This is also the start of the Fantasy Football season. Thursday is the day that I have been anticipating since the end of the Super Bowl.

In an attempt to wait patiently, I am currently watching the Monday Night College game with Florida State and Clemson (Clemson just scored). At least it is real football. I am sure I would have watched this game anyway, but for now it is my NFL substitute.

Luckily, there is only three days to go.
