Welcome to Fantasy Sports Counselor. Sit back on our Fantasy Couch while we provide a therapeutic look at fantasy baseball, fantasy football, and general sports thoughts.
QB Chad Pennington of Miami. As stated last week, Pennington has been hot of late. The Seahawks have been ice cold. Look for a good game from Chad.
QB Matt Ryan of Atlanta. Ryan continues to develop every week. He has developed much faster than I anticipated. He is a good start against the Saints this weekend.
RB Jamaal Charles of Kansas City. Charles looked very good coming in for the injury to Kolby Smith last weekend against the Bucs. He should have another good game against the Chargers this weekend. This rookie has a lot of speed.
RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis of New England. Green-Ellis has taken over the rushing duties with the injuries to the Pats runningbacks. He has had 3 touchdowns in 3 weeks. I was able to pick him up in two of my leagues this week. If you need an injury pick up, pick him up quickly.
WR Greg Camarillo of Miami. Greg is a wide out that is often overlooked by fantasy owners. He is a big target for Chad Pennington. The Dolphins are playing the Seahawks. I doubt he will have the 111 yards he did last week but should be solid as a third Wide or a flex.
WR Derrick Mason of Baltimore. He is not an exciting player to watch but Joe Flacco likes him a lot. He should be a solid play this week against the Texans.
Bench their Butts
QB Matt Cassel of New England. Cassel has performed well for the Patriots with Brady’s injury. But this week they are playing a tough Bills team. I look for Cassel to have a very poor game this week.
QB Eli Manning of New York. Philly is a tough place for QBs to play. They have limited what teams do against them at home. Eli had a great game against the Cowboys last week but if you have other good options, let him ride the pine this weekend.
RB Willis McGahee of Baltimore. The Ravens are looking at playing the hot hand with a Runningback by committee. Last week Rice was the hot hand. I would expect them to give Rice the ball a lot this week. McGahee continues to be a bad start.
RB Ryan Grant of Green Bay. Grant has not looked as good as he did last year. They are playing the Vikings and they have a solid run defense. If you have a good replacement, bench his butt.
WR Hines Ward of Pittsburg. Big Ben is not healthy. Ward has not been the same receiver as in past years. The Colts are the third best defense against the pass. All signs point to a bad week for Ward.
WR Plaxico Burress of the Giants. If Manning is having a hard time, then Burress will too. He has not played at the level expected for this season and I do not see this as a break out week.
Here are the Week 10 fantasy injuries and my commentary. Starting this week I will start posting a Thursday's edition along with the regular Weekend edition. The Thursday Edition will list injuries for the Thursday's game only. This week it will also include the teams that have the final off week.
Thursday's Game
Browns: WR Donte Stallworth is probable with a quad injury. He was limited in practice this week. It appears he should play this weekend.
WR Joe Jurevicius has a knee injury and is listed as out. He is out for the year. Tell me it isn't so Joe!
Broncos: TE Tony Scheffler has a groin injury and is questionable. Hewill be a game time decision.
RB Selvin Young is questionable with a groin injury. He will suit up and test the groin before the game. He will be a game time decision.
RB Andre Hall has an injured right ankle and was placed on the Injured Reserve on Monday. He is done for the year.
RB Ryan Torian is probable with an elbow injury. He is expected to get the majority of the carries Thursday night.
RB Michael Pittman has a neck injury and was placed on the Injured Reserve.

Things I Have Learned... from the Buccaneers at the Chiefs.
1)Kansas City is a great football city. The Chiefs fans come out if their team is good or bad.Arrowhead is truly the loudest stadium in the NFL. These rowdy fans also know how to tailgate before the game.(I was at Sunday’s game)
2) QB Jeff Garcia is a good manager of his team.He does not have great arm strength and usually makes the short passes. He is efficient and productive with 31 completions of 43 pass attempts with 339 yards. He had a touchdown and an interception. He led this team back from a 24-3 2nd quarter deficit.
3) QB Tyler Thigpen is an exciting, young, developing quarterback. He can make the touch passes and the long passes. He also can catch the ball on trick plays. He was 14 completions for 25 attempts for 164 and a touchdown. He also caught a caught a 37 yard touchdown pass on a trick play.If he can continue to develop, the Chiefs may finally have their QB of the future.
4) WR Antonio Bryant is developing into top level Wide Out.He is clearly Garcia’s favorite receiver. He had 8 receptions for 115 yards.
5) The Kansas City runningback combination of Kolby Smith and Jamaal Charles looked good.Smith had 46 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown.Charles carried the ball 18 times for 106 yards.Smith’s in game injury led to the caries by Charles. It appeared that they did not miss the suspended L.J.
6) TE Tony Gonzalez is still one of the best Tight Ends in the game.He has a great one handed catch that was called back on a questionable penalty.
7) RB Earnest Graham did not have the great day I expected. He was starting against one of the worst running defenses in the league. He only had 62 yards on 19 carries and 2 fumbles.
8) Both Offensive lines looked good in pass protection.Neither QB has many hits on them behind the line of scrimmage.
9) CB Brandon Flowers of the Chiefs looks like a steal in the draft. He can play and has had to step up and play a lot.
Those are a few things I learned from the Buccaneers at the Chiefs.
I mentioned a while back about the Cowboys Pride Internet Radio show. I stated that I would be a regular guest. Because of some changes on the program, I am no longer a regular guest. I have moved to regular Co-Host of this program. If you have any interest of hearing the program, we are on Blog Talk Radio. There is a link on this blog where you can listen to a recording or live on Thursday nights from 9:30 pm to 10:30 central time.
Here are the Week 9 fantasy injuries and my commentary.
Cardinals: TE Ben Patrick has a knee injury and is questionable for this weekend. He missed practice until Friday when he fully practiced. He is expected to play on Sunday.
TE Leonard Pope is out with an ankle injury and will not play on Sunday.
K Neil Rackers has a calf injury and is probable. He should play with no problem.
WR Early Doucet is probable with a groin injury. He was limited in practice on Thursday.
Falcons: RB Jerious Norwood is questionable with a concussion. He is expected to play this weekend.
Ravens: RB Willis McGahee has a sore ankle and is questionable. He was limited in practice but is expected to play on Sunday.
WR Demetrius Williams was put on the Injured Reserve because he had a bone spur underneath his Achilles' tendon surgically removed.
WR Yamon Figurs is probable for this weekend with a knee injury. He was limited in practice on Thursday but is expected to play.
TE Todd Heap has a neck injury and is probable. He practiced on Friday and should play this weekend.
TE Daniel Wilcox is out with a thigh injury.
Bills: WR Josh Reed is out with an Achilles/ankle injury.
QB Trent Edwards has an ankle injury and is probable. He fully practiced this week.
Panthers:
Off Week 9
Bears: WR Marty Booker has a knee injury and is probable for this weekend.
WR Brandon Lloyd is questionable with a knee injury. He was limited in practice part of this week.
Bengals: QB Carson Palmer has an elbow injury and is out. It is likely that he is out for the year.
TE Ben Utecht is probable with a chest injury. He fully practiced on Wednesday.
WR Glenn Holt has a shoulder injury and is questionable. He was limited in practice part of this week.
WR Jerome Simpson is out with an ankle injury.
Browns: WR Donte Stallworth is questionable with a quad injury. He was limited in practice this week. I would not count on him to play.
WR Joe Jurevicius has a knee injury and is listed as out. It is a good chance that he is finished for this year.
Cowboys: QB Tony Romo is out with a broken right pinky finger. It appears that he will be rested until week 11. Next week is Dallas' off week.
WR Sam Hurd was put on the Injury Reserve and had ankle surgery.
TE Jason Whitten has a broken rib and is questionable for this weekend. Jason has stated that he wants to play. The Giants will be scheming for him over the middle since QB Brad Johnson has a weak arm. Even if he plays this weekend, he is not a good fantasy start.
Broncos: WR Brandon Stockley is questionable with symptoms of a concussion. He was limited in practice this week. If he plays, he is not a bad start against the Dolphins as a flex or third WR. I don't recommend taking the chance with your fantasy team for Stockley.
TE Tony Scheffler has a groin injury and is questionable. He was limited in practice on Friday. If Tony can stay healthy, he can have a good fantasy second half.
RB Selvin Young is questionable with a groin injury. He was limited in practice this week. He is not a safe start.
RB Andre Hall has an injured right ankle and is questionable this weekend. Another Bronco Runninngback that is injured.
RB Ryan Torian is probable with an elbow injury. Coach Shanahan stated that he would like to leave Torian on the bench this week to further heal. He may play because of the vast injuries in Denver's backfield. I would not start him until he has a good game under his belt.
RB Michael Pittman has bruised ribs and is probable for this weekend. He is expected to play with a flack jacket on. Pittman is not the runningback he used to be and is injured. Even against Miami, he is not a good start.
Lions: No significant fantasy injuries.
Packers: QB Aaron Rogers is probable with a shoulder injury. Rogers will play this weekend. He has become a good start when healthy.
WR Jordy Nelson has an ankle injury and is questionable. Nelson should not have much fantasy value even if he was healthy.
Texans: RB Ahman Green has a thigh injury and is questionable. He fully practiced on Friday but was limited earlier in the week. He is a game time decision. No one believes that Green will be the player he was in Green Bay. He has zero fantasy value at this time.
WR Kevin Walter is probable for this weekend with a knee injury. Walter has been a good 3 WR and flex most of this year.
RB Chris Taylor has a quad injury and was put on the Injured Reserve.
WR Andre Davis had surgery to repair the ring finger of his left hand and is out for a few weeks.
Colts: WR Reggie Wayne is questionable with a knee injury. He stated he is ready to go. He did practice on Friday. With Peyton's struggles this season, Wayne is not as automatic to start when questionable as he was last year.
RB Joesph Addai has a hamstring injury and is probable. He will play this weekend. The Colts need him to step up big against the Patriots. Most fantasy owners also need him to step up big this weekend. I would start him.
RB Clifton Dawson is questionable with the effects of a concussion. He should not be a fantasy consideration unless Addai is not able to go.
RB Dominic Rhodes has an ankle injury and is questionable. He has not practiced this week. I do not look for him to play.
Jaguars: WR Mike Walker is questionable with a knee injury.
WR Reggie Williams has a hamstring injury and is probable. He has been limited in practice all week.
K Josh Scobee probable with a broken bone in his right hand. This should not affect his kicking but he probably will not try to make any more tackles for a while.
Chiefs: QB Brodie Croyle has been placed in the Injured Reserve which ends his season.
QB Damon Huard has been placed in the Injured Reserve which ends his season.
RB Jamaal Charles is probable with an ankle injury. He was limited in practice this week. He is supposed to be the back up to this weeks starting RB Kolby Smith.
RB Larry Johnson is out with a suspension for his rash of bad behaviors towards women. I am surprised it is only one game. I do expect the league to announce further suspensions upcoming.
Dolphins: No significant fantasy injuries.
Vikings: WR Sidney Rice is probable with a knee injury. He was limited in practice earlier in the week. Before he was injured, Rice was starting to show a lot of signs of potential. If you are in a keeper league, he is a worthy pickup to stash on your bench.
Saints: Off Week 9
Patriots: RB Lawerence Maroney has a shoulder injury and was placed on the injured reserve list. He is done for the season.
RB LaMont Jordan is questionable with a right calf injury. He practiced all week.
RB Sammy Morris has a knee injury and is listed as questionable. He is expected to be out for a couple of weeks. He is not safe start.
WR Randy Moss is probable with a knee injury. He was limited in practice on Wednesday but fully practiced the rest of the week. As always, he is a good start this weekend.
Giants: No significant fantasy injuries. That is bad for my Cowboys this weekend.
Jets: WR Laveranues Cole has a thigh injury and is probable. He practiced lightly this week. He is expected to play.
K Mike Nugent is listed as out for this week.
TE Chris Baker is questionable with a back injury. He was limited in practice.
WR Jerricho Cotchery has a shoulder injury and is probable. He was limited in practice this week.
TE Bubba Franks has a hip injury and is questionable. It does not appear that he will play this weekend.
RB Jesse Chatman was placed on Injured Reserve.
QB Erik Ainge was placed on Injured Reserve.
Raiders: RB Darren McFadden is questionable with a turf toe injury. He has missed practice all week and is wearing a protective boot. This is not good for Oakland.
Eagles: RB Michael Westbrook is probable with ribs injury. He will play this weekend. He is a good start.
WR Reggie Brown has a groin injury and is probable. He fully practiced. He will be good to go. He may be a sleeper pick for the week. He would a decent flex player.
WR DeSean Jackson has a shoulder injury and is probable. He is expected to play.
WR Jason Avant is questionable with an arm injury. I would avoid starting Avant this week.
TE L.J. Smith is recovering from a concussion and is out for the week.
Steelers: RB "Fast" Willie Parker is probable for this weekend with a knee injury. He fully practiced on Friday. He is expected to play but he should only have limited carries on Monday night..
QB Big BenRoethlisberger is probable with a shoulder injury. He fully practiced on Thursday and Friday. Big Ben will play.
RB Rashard Mendenhal has been placed in Injured Reserve for his fractured right arm.
Chargers: No significant fantasy injuries.
Seahawks: Off Week 9
49ers: Off Week 9
Rams: TE Joe Klopfenstein has a torn ligament in his wrist and is probable for this weekend. He is expected to play with a brace
RB Steven Jackson is questionable with a quad injury. He will be a game time decision. Jackson has stated that he will play. I believe he will start this weekend but wait and see if you can. I expect a good game for Jackson if he plays.
Buccaneers: QB Brian Griese is questionable with an elbow injury. He was limited in practice this weekend.
WR Maurice Stovall has a hamstring injury and is questionable for this weekend. He practiced on a limited basis this week.
WR Ike Hillard is questionable with a shoulder injury. He was limited in practice this week.
RB Warrick Dunn has a pinched nerve in back and is questionable. He will be a game time decision.
RB Carnell Williams is out with a knee injury. He did see contact in practice this week.
WR Michael Clayton questionable with a knee injury. He fully practiced on Thursday. Clayton has never lived up to his potential.
Titans: No significant fantasy injuries.
Redskins: RB Clinton Portis is probable with an ankle injury. The Redskins expect him to start this weekend. He did miss practice earlier this week.
RB Ledell Betts is out with a knee injury for Monday night.
WR Santana Moss has an injured hamstring and is probable. He missed practice on Friday. There is a mixed message out there if he is expected to play or not.
